The downtown of Monroe is small, but it means a lot of the residents. A man with a raccoon hat (that resembles Davy Crockett) talks to us under the main bridge in town about how important the River Raisin was for the commerce of those early days. It was an efficient way to get goods to Canada. But downtown is also the only place where cool kids like us can come and hang out on weeknights. Open Mic night- super psychedelic.

And did you know that the River Raisin is the only river in America where the word River comes first!!

Monroe prides itself on the quirky details of it’s past. Our last clue has to be somewhere around here…
